Chennupati
Jagadish is a distinguished professor of physics and head of Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Nanotechnology Group at the Australian National University Research School of Physics and Engineering. He is also a director of Australian National Fabrication Facility ACT Node and a Vice-President and Secretary for Physical Sciences of the Australian Academy of Science. Chennupati Jagadish obtained PhD degree at University of Delhi in 1986.
His research interests include neuroscience, neurotechnology, compound semiconductor optoelectronics, nanotechnology, photovoltaics and materials science. He advises high tech industries in Australia and overseas in the field of photonics and nanotechnology and collaborated with researchers from 25 different countries.
Jagadish is an author/coauthor of more than 900 research papers, coauthored a book and co-edited 12 books. According to Google Scholar his h index is 71.
Chennupati Jagadish has received countless amount of awards and honors including Peter Baume Award (ANU’s prestigious and highest award) for excellence in research and research leadership in 2006, IEEE Pioneer Award in Nanotechnology in 2015 and UNESCO Medal for contributions to the development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies in 2018.
Professor Jagadish and his wife dr. Vidya Jagadish have set up an endowment fund to help students from the developing worlds have an experience of high-level research at the Australian National University.
